How do I change the sex of an animal once I have entered it?
|
|
If an animal has been set up or entered as a calf with the wrong sex (or other details), the animal's Record Card can be edited to correct the mistake.
Instructions
- Find the animal from its category list (i.e. click on Heifer Calves, Breeding Heifer, etc. under Animal Inspector on the left hand menu) and double click it to open its Record Card.
- Click 'Edit' at the top
- Any of the boxes highlighted in white can be edited, including the sex of the animal.
- If a message appears telling you: 'The animal cannot change its sex during its lifetime', the heifer/store has already been included in a 'Transfer'. Reject your changes and click into 'Life History' on the Record Card.
- Double click on the Transfer that has occurred, this will open the Transfer window.
- Click the 'Select Animals' button, bottom left.
- Find the animals with the incorrect sex; remove the tick to the left of the animal number.
- Click 'Close' and then 'Save'. This will return you to the Animal Record Card.
- Click 'Edit' again and alter the sex of the animal.
