Splitting Fields and Merging Split Fields

How to split fields

  • From Field Records click on Actions and then Cropping Planner.
  • Select the field you want to split in the top grid (Field Cropping).
  • Now click on the Add Split button.

If the split is for two or more crops growing in the field together, keep the cross in 'Maintain the same field area'. The area you now enter for the split will be subtracted from the total field area so that the main and split sections equal the total field area. Typically the area for the Working Area and the Official Area will be the same.

You also get the choice to 'Apportion out all recorded operations'; Leave this crossed if you have operations that are applied to the whole field e.g. ploughing. This will apportion out the costs to each part by area. If the application (i.e. spraying) was only to the main area, then remove the cross.

If you are entering a second cropping in the same cropping year (e.g. a catch crop), remove the cross from 'Maintain the same cropping area' and enter the correct area for Working and Official area.

  • Click on OK and the entered data will be saved.
