(Optional - not available at all levels.)
Overview
The Farm/Estate Account reports contain management information based on individual complete harvest or estate years - rather than being confined to the constraints of the financial 12 months.
Farm Profitability Reports
The Farm Profitability may be displayed in the format of Gross Margins or Net Margins as required. If a report is displayed in Gross Margin format, all the overheads are deducted from the total Farm Gross Margin to give the Profit/Loss for this farming year.
If the report is displayed in Net Margin format, all allocated overheads will be included within their relevant enterprise category, with any unallocated overheads being assigned to 'Whole Business'. It is possible to allocate overheads to enterprises directly in data entry or on a percentage basis using the Net Margin Calculator at the end of a financial period.
Instructions
- Choose Farm Profitability from the main screen Farm Accounts, the Accounts Toolbar or the Report Library.
- On selecting the report, you will be able to click to see Gross Margin or Net Margin and in the Report Library, you will also be able to select whether the figures are shown for the Farming Year or the Financial Year.

Enterprise Reports
The exact layout of the enterprise report varies according to the Enterprise type. There are 4 main categories:
- Crops & Land
- Livestock
- Commercial
- General i.e. all other entries not specifically allocated.
When you click into an Enterprise report from the main screen(rather than from the Report Library) the report is initially laid out as a 'summary' to show the Gross Margin minus allocated overheads to show the Net Margin.
Each category with against it may be 'drilled down' from the summary screen through to the Groups, Heading Codes or Farm Categories to see the Items Listing where individual entries may be accessed and edited or cancelled if appropriate.
To make comparisons with other businesses the layout of the individual enterprise reports may be altered from the Groups and Heading Codes defined in 'Your Setup' (button top right) to the 'Industry Standard Layout' or 'Agri. Standard' as defined in published data. The 'Agri. Standard' layout uses the Farm Categories allocated to each Heading Code.
By clicking on the 'Comparisons' button, the actual figures may be compared with budgeted figures, or with another enterprise e.g. the same enterprise in a different farming year, or perhaps a similar enterprise such as a second herd or different variety.
Management information is also provided e.g. the yield, and the figures can be displayed in different ways such as the totals per unit grown or per unit of production.
When you select an Enterprise Report from the Report Library, the following selection bar is displayed:
- This allows you to choose the 'Type' of enterprise to look at i.e. Crop, Livestock or Commercial.
- It also allows you to select which enterprise / enterprise year to report on.
- The 'Per Unit Values' allows you to choose whether you view the figures by Area or Yield (tonnes). If you were looking at a Livestock enterprise, this would be Cows or Litres.
- The buttons under 'Setup' enable you to look at the figures as 'Your Setup' showing Groups and Heading Codes, or in the Agri. Standard layout.
