Summary of Enhancements - Autumn 2007
Report Publisher
When you click on the report button in any option within the program you will see that the layout of the print screen has altered. As before you have a print and preview button and they work in the same manner as before i.e. click on them to use them.
In addition you now have the ability to email or export any report. There are various layouts available - for example Excel, Adobe PDF and HTML format.
There is also the ability to select individual or ranges of pages.
Report Designer - batch printing module only
The ability to customise the layout of the reports can be found within the Batch Printing options (i.e. invoices/statements/remittances etc.) It is also available as an additional module for all other reports within Business Manager. This gives you the ability to edit the layout of the report i.e. position of information, colours, fonts, add labels, logos, pictures etc.
E-Mail documents within batch Printing (module)
You now have the ability to email invoices, remittances and statements to supplier and customers using the email addresses set up against their records.
NB This option will normally send all selected e-mails automatically. If you would rather check each e-mail before they are sent go to Tools-Options-Batch Printing and make sure there is a tick in ‘Review Email before sending’. If this is not ticked all selected documents will be sent automatically.
Ability to edit standing order instructions
The Setup- Standing Orders option has been redesigned to make them easier to locate and edit.
A filter on the screen will allow you to select a specific supplier/customer or exclude any standing orders that have finished from the display if you wish.
You now have the ability to change the amounts, start and end dates of any existing standing order even if they have been implemented.
Cashflow - can be filtered by bank account
It is now possible to produce the cashflow reports filtered for an individual bank account – for example to just show the current account’s transactions. This filter applies both on the cashflow options from the Home Page and within the Report Library.
Farming/Non-farming business terms
You can now select whether you want to use farm or non-farm terminology in Tools-Options
Electronic Banking - electronic banking module
We have added options for the internet based banking systems of RBS/NatWest Internet Bankline and Triodos.
Items inspector - now defaults to trial balance
The program now defaults to the trial balance tab instead of profit and loss so that the whole code range can be seen. The selected tab is now highlighted in red so that you can see which one has been selected.
Items listing (from item inspector)
It now includes extra columns including heading code group and search code group to allow more extensive filtering within Excel.
Finished Suppliers/Customer in Ledger Payments
Any record that has been finished will now longer appear in the ledger payments screen.
Export to Milk Bench
Milk Bench is a web site that allows dairy farmers to compare their accounts with other similar farms (benchmarking). The program will automatically detect whether you have a dairy enterprise and make available an option that allows you to create a file containing the financial details of your business for a full accounting year. Close VAT Period - Reports
If you right click on the Close VAT Period button you have the ability to preview any of the VAT reports before you print them.
Budgets - Finished Heading Codes
Finished heading codes will no longer be linked to new enterprises and will not be displayed when entering budgets.
Vista
We have made a number of adjustments to the program to make it compatible with Windows Vista.
HM Revenue and Customs
Throughout the program we have replaced any references to Customs & Excise with Revenue & Customs, and C&E with R&C.
VAT Payments including in Electronic Payments batches (electronic banking module)
Any VAT payments that have been marked as being paid through the electronic banking screen are now included in a batch with other electronic payments.
VAT Registration numbers
We have now included Romania and Bulgaria in the list of country prefixes on VAT registration codes.
Citrix network
We have completed work to enable Business Manager to operate fully on the specialist "Citrix" network operating platform. Farmplan do not provide direct support for the platform but testing has shown that the technical changes made to the program now enable the full operation in this environment.
